Bow Roller on a 211

I have seen that newer 21 boats have a bow roller as part of the stem head fitting, so I would like to replace my fairlead fitting.
Has anyone replaced a bow fair lead / stem head fitting?
How is it fixed to the hull?
Can one remove it without breaking or damaging the hull?
Any comments or experience would be most helpful
