B&G masthead wind instrument.

I have a Beneteau 36cc 2001 equipped with B&G instruments that has developed erratic readings both wind speed and direction. This happened before - about two years ago - but having manged to get the unit off and back on three times (there are six very small pins that need to marry precisely when re inserting the unit and the first and second occasion, the pins bent and needed new pins re soldiered) I don't think that I dare revisit the unit again, I am sure I haven't got the heart.
Has anyone any recommendation of a realistically priced repair opportunity? TInleys on the south coast quote crazy money. Or is there anyone out there whose upgrading and looking to out their B&G stuff - specifically the wind anometer unit.
