hi,
i have a beneteau 311 oceanis with a lifting keel. on a recent trip, the winding mechanism in the cabin (through the table) has become detached from the rest of the mechanism and now lifts freely out. Has anyone any experience of this? the boat still sails ok so i am assuming the keel is down? on contacting the dealer they say to replace the whole mechanism, with attached high cost!
would like to leave any remedial action till later in the season as apparently the boat will need to come out.
any help/advice greatly appreciated.
